You know what's amazing? Seeing someone be there for a person who runs out of class because they had uncontrollable tears. The amazing part was that the person barely knew the other person, yet she spent practically the whole period in the bathroom with me, hoping to comfort the crier (a friend of mine).  The crier who locked him/herself in the stall did not really speak to us, yet the other person decided to remain in the bathroom with me....just to give her presence to the crier. I admire that so much in her.

I just hope my friend is alright. Tried calling her, but she didn't pick up.

I agree that that is amazing. I have found that most people do not react if someone is in distress. I've seen that at every play of employ I've had. I've seen it in social situations.
A person can be visibly upset and most tend to just ignore it, change the subject, stand and say or do nothing or simply walk away.
I call it emotional constipation and it is an epidemic in our society.

I've noticed that, also. I've always told myself that if I were to ever see a stranger crying, I would have to at least hand him/her some tissues (to show them that someone cares). I'd want to do more, but it might be intrusive. I might just sit next to him/her if nothing is said. But if she/he starts to feel uncomfortable, I'd probably act like I'm distracted and look like I'm working on something while sitting next to him/her.

It definitely is an epidemic in our society.

That's amazing that someone else was there that barely knew her. It's a beautiful thing to see. Too bad there's not more of it. Anyway, I hope she's doing alright, too... =/

Yes, it really is. Have you or Emily heard from her?

Nope, I haven't heard from her. The last time I talked to Emily, she hadn't heard from her either.
